Naomi Campbell Testimony Video in Diamond Trial

Supermodel Naomi Campbell has finally testified in the trial against Liberian warlord Charles Taylor, from whom she accepted several ‘blood diamonds’ as a gift after a charity dinner 13 years ago.

In this Naomi Campbell’s diamond trial, Campbell said she had no idea about his identity nor the history of his country at the time, and explained she hesitated with her testimony afterwards out of concern for her family. Naomi Campbell was due to appear in court this week to testify in the war crimes trial of ex-Liberian president, Charles Taylor. However, the supermodel has been granted a request to postpone her appearance until August 5.

Prosecutors are hoping Campbell will give testimonial evidence about blood diamond scandal including claim that Taylor presented her with a diamond after a dinner party in South Africa in 1997 particularly If she was given diamond it proves Charles Taylors involvement with the blood diamond exchange no matter the size.

The prosecutors believe that this Naomi Campbell’s diamond testimony could rebut claims from the former Liberian leader that he never possessed rough diamonds. Though, Taylor’s lawyers are calling the supermodel’s testimony a publicity stunt.
